The state Senate is looking at a bill (SB 656) sponsored by Sen. Travis Fitzwater, R-Holts Summit, that would modify Missouri’s sex offender registry. Certain tier one offenders who are convicted of abusing kids would be moved to a tier three, classified as the most severe sex crimes, and would be on the list for life.
“This is a change in the sexual offender registry language in our state statutes moving some tier one offenders into tier three, specifically around abusing kids and the several provisions in there that were moved to tier three offenders as it relates to impacting children,” he said.
No one testified in favor of Fitzwater’s bill.
Vicki Henry, President of the Missouri Alliance for Family Restoration, argued that the offenders who have already been convicted have paid their debt to society.
“Anything less and you’ll have more blood on your hands from suicides and murders,” she said. “That’s a fact because they’re just giving up. They don’t feel like there’s ever any life after that, after being put on that registry. I heard somebody say earlier, here in the capitol, that once you’re on the registry, you’re on the registry. That shouldn’t be the way it is.”
Fitzwater argued that the bill is designed to enhance safety and accountability.
Read the full bill and take action
Probably another example of political grandstanding in an election year. But I think it has more to do with getting larger federal grant funds for having a more populous registry.
Fitzwater is a blithering idiot, regardless.
I’m so sick of this stupidity at the hands of A**H*** politicians!
GOD BLESS Vicki Henry!!! She is a blessing for sure.
Misery’s lawmakers are concerned with abusing children, however those in Jefferson City have no problem continuing to abuse children who have a loved one on the registry. Should the lawmakers be put on a registry for their abuse of children even if it’s not sexual in nature?
And the conclusive presumption agrees…
The Conclusive Presumption of Frightening and High, agrees that anyone, and everyone, is a lifetime F&H risk, with no possibility of exception. This is Universally true, and eternally immutable. Thus, anyone and everyone that has ever engaged in any of the behaviors are, and the legislators simply decide who should be required to register as a result, and for how long…
The absurdity of this is staggering. How is it possible that in CA a person convicted of CP Possession can only be prevented from continuing a lifetime of child predation via Registration… but not elsewhere? Are people that download pictures in CA more dangerous than others?
If I did exactly the same thing, but in a different State…would I be a different person? If someone from out of State did this in CA, would they? Is this yet another Witch Curse?
No, this is not a result of a Witch Curse! Universal, Eternal, F&H covers everything! It’s just that certain States are “OK” with letting some relentless sexual predators off the registry after a totally scientifically based number of years.
That’s why, those States have massive amounts of former Registrant Recidivism… that they are just OK with. Has to be true, Universal and Eternal F&H, coupled with the relief from the impenetrable recidivism barrier that is the registry, could produce no other outcome. Has to be universally true.
No wait, there’s the real Witch Curse! The curse doesn’t change people into lifetime predators… that’s everyone already, it just makes the incalculable number of crimes they commit after they are no longer required to register, undetectable! Yes, it makes it impossible to know who these Predators assaulted, when and where it happened, or what was done. This is true for all Predators, but especially true for former Registrants!
Thankfully USAG Garland is immune from this curse, and acted… by trying to force everyone back on the registry for life!
A cynic might suggest that Garland was just trying to eliminate the appearance of the absurd, seemingly haphazard, convenience based tiering by making absolutely everyone T3.. but no! He was fighting the various Witch Curses that have a variety of effects in different locations! That is the most rational presumption possible…Witch Curse mitigation…
Yes, it would seem that Nation is plagued by Witch Curses! Each State has their own unique version, producing unique effects… but all insidious!
Ummm do witches have some kind of union that assigns territories? Seems no one witch curse crosses any State boundary… so, I gotta think there’s some kinda… rules, and a governing body that enforcers them?
Honor System perhaps… no witch curse crosses State lines, out of professional courtesy? Do witches work like that maybe?
All I know is we have 50 unique witch curses… and a National one…. maybe some territorial ones as well… so… um… is the National Curse Witch like the Chief Witch? Maybe the Puerto Rican one is kinda like an honorary sorta member?
All perfectly rational….
